Since the emergence of COVID-19, face masks have become a mitigation strategy and area of debate. Many people believe that the science on masks saving lives is “settled,” while others point to examples that bring the aforementioned “settled” science into debate.
Across the board, Democrats are likelier than Republicans to favor masks and certainly likelier to implement mask mandates. 2020 showed us that and when Joe Biden ran for the presidency, he vowed to implement a mask mandate.
Mandating masks on federal property and interstate commerce served as one of Biden’s first moves via executive order. In light of this order, some Americans might have assumed that the 46th president would abide by his own mask mandate.
However, this is not the case. Since mandating the use of face masks on federal property, Biden has gotten caught not wearing a mask on federal property, Breitbart News confirms.
Breaking His Own Executive Order
The new first family didn’t hesitate to celebrate Biden being officially sworn into office. Part of the Bidens’ celebration involved posing for photos at the Lincoln Memorial. In one photo, the first family wore masks; yet, in the other photo, the Bidens chose to go without face coverings.

This is interesting and in breach of the 46th president’s own executive orders. Biden has repeatedly harped on the importance and necessity of wearing masks; yet, he also didn’t see an issue with violating his own mandate.
This isn’t an anomaly, though; in fact, it’s part of a much larger pattern. Multiple Democrat leaders across the nation have issued COVID-19 orders only to break these rules when they thought they’d get away with it.
More on the First Few Days of the Biden Presidency
This Friday marks the second full day of the Biden presidency. Already, certain things are getting off to a shaky start. Many Americans aren’t happy with executive orders signed by Biden; putting the nation back into the Paris Climate Agreement has engendered controversy, as has Biden’s removal of the Keystone pipeline permit.

For a president that has spoken of unity and professed to want to bring the nation together, Biden has some work to do. Thus far, the actions and policies of the 46th president are only further driving the nation apart.
