Elon Musk took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to accuse members of the House Committee investigating the Capitol riots on January 6 of “misleading the public.”
He reacted to another user’s tweet accusing former Reps. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and Congressman Adam Schiff of being “liars.” Musk concurred, claiming the politicians hide evidence and their behavior profoundly misguided the public.
According to Musk, politicians not only deceived the public, but also withheld evidence for political reasons, resulting in individuals being imprisoned for more severe crimes than they really committed.
He also remarked this was both legally and ethically unacceptable.
Footages Proved Dishonesty of Politicians, Media Outlets
The House Select Committee, which was entrusted with investigating the Jan. 6 assault on the United States Capitol, issued its definitive report earlier this year and was formally disbanded.
The report, issued earlier this year, lambasted former President Trump and chastised Republican politicians for allegedly instigating the riots. They resulted in several deaths, injuries to law enforcement personnel and citizens, and property damage.
On Monday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson said House Speaker Kevin McCarthy offered him more than 40,000 hours of exclusive video from the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Carlson then proceeded to display previously unseen footage from this collection throughout the episode, which seemed to contradict several of the committee’s final report’s conclusions.

Carlson said the film he broadcast proved politicians and media outlets were dishonest about the events of January 6. Carlson’s first series of the footage showed “sightseers” quietly examining the Capitol building.
Shocking Videos and Misleading Information
Another video revealed Capitol Police officers chaperoning Jacob Chansley, also known as “QAnon Shaman,” down multiple halls with no apparent confrontation.
Carlson even claimed that cops were unlocking doors for him, enabling him to walk through unobstructed. Musk said the new video was very startling.
Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley, popularly known as “QAnon Shaman,” was indicted and sentenced to almost four years in prison.
This was for “knowingly entering or residing in any restricted facility or grounds without legal authorization and for violent entrance and disorderly behavior on Capitol grounds.”
“If Chansley was actually committing such a terrible violation, why didn’t any of the cops standing close to him arrest him,” Carlson wondered. He said at least nine cops were in close proximity to Chansley at some point.
Besides misleading the public, they withheld evidence for partisan political reasons that sent people to prison for far more serious crimes than they committed.
That is deeply wrong, legally and morally.

In addition, Carlson reminded his viewers that video footage showing Officer Brian Sicknick leading and escorting folks through the Capitol after he had been attacked “destroys the most powerful and politically beneficial fiction that Democrats have told us about Jan. 6.”
He went on to say, “if they were ready to mislead us about the police officer they purported to adore, then there were no bounds to their dishonesty.”
