San Francisco Archbishop slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her recent support of repealing the Hyde Amendment. The Archbishop also added that Pelosi is not a “devout Catholic” as she claims she is.
Archbishop: it is hypocrisy to use a smokescreen of abortion and then make it an issue of fairness and health
On Thursday, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone slammed Pelosi for her pro-abortion stance. Archbishop Cordileone stated that it is the epitome of hypocrisy to use the smokescreen of abortion and making it an issue of health and fairness.
The Archbishop then questioned what about the lives of the babies that were killed. Archbishop Cordileone later suggested instead to give poor women real choices so they can be supported in choosing life instead of abortion.

The Archbishop then claimed that only the people under the Catholic faith operate pro-life crisis pregnancy clinics, providing women with pro-life alternatives, instead of having their children killed in their wombs.
Cordileone added that he is proud of his fellow Catholics who stand up to provide these types of pro-life pregnancy clinics. He then added that these people who support life are those who are worthy to be named “devout Catholics.”
The San Francisco Archbishop continued stating that no one should say that they are a “devout Catholic,” approve the killing of innocent lives, and then have the government pay for the act.
Earlier this week, California representative Nancy Pelosi declared her support for abolishing the Hyde Amendment. Hyde Amendment is a federal policy that inhibits most abortion in being funding by Medicaid. It has been in place since 1976, but decades later, the Biden administration and Democrat lawmakers are pushing to abolish the policy.
Pelosi called herself a “devout Catholic” in her statement showing support for abortion and eliminating the Hyde Amendment.
Pelosi, who called herself a “devout Catholic,” backed up her pro-abortion stance, which apparently goes against the Catholic teachings.

This week, Pelosi made a statement saying that she is a devout Catholic and a mother of five. She added that she feels that God blessed her and her husband with their beautiful family.
However, she claimed that it is not up to her to dictate what other people should do regarding abortion matters. The lawmaker and mother of five then claimed that it is unfair to tell people what to do. Pelosi later added that abortion is an issue of “fairness and justice” for poor women in the United States.
Meanwhile, the Bishops’ Conference of the United States has already asked lawmakers to maintain the Hyde Amendment. They are also gathering signatures in support of their petition for the pro-life policy. So far, the U.S. Bishops’ Conference has already earned 130,000 signatures and counting.
