Election security is a critical matter in the United States. The 2020 presidential race revealed a series of issues with elections that need to be addressed. Despite the left dismissing any and all allegations of voter fraud, there are too many reports otherwise which speak to real issues.

The reports of voter fraud, irregularities, and more have engendered serious concerns and doubts about the integrity of elections. Some Americans are openly stating that they won’t vote until gateways to fraud, cheating, etc., are appropriately dealt with.

Now, states are looking at ways to make U.S. elections more secure. On Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a series of new proposals for secure and fair elections, Breitbart News reports.

Measures for Election Security in Florida

Early yesterday afternoon, Governor DeSantis explained that despite Florida having the most reliable elections in America, there still exists room to secure the electoral process.

The proposals announced by the Florida GOP governor involve tackling ballot harvesting and ballot drop boxes. Additionally, DeSantis affirmed his support for prohibiting mass mail-outs of vote-via-mail ballots and mandating ballot signatures to match the most current on-file signatures.

Finally, the current Florida governor is supportive of mandating that requests for vote-via-mail ballots be made during each year of an election. DeSantis explained that each of the aforementioned measures will not only secure the elections of the Sunshine State, but also model a “blueprint” for the rest of America.

The Importance of Secure Elections

Whenever Republicans so much as mention the need to have secure elections, Democrats claim that this is about voter suppression. Already, leftist leaders and their acolytes have begun tearing into the Florida governor; the criticism predictably alleges that DeSantis is trying to make voting harder, rather than securing elections.

Democrats like Georgia’s Stacey Abrams are on record professing that the Democrat base is comprised of both American citizens and illegal aliens. Therefore, it stands to reason that Democrats do not truly want secure elections.

On Friday, many Republicans lauded the measures announced by the Florida governor. DeSantis has consistently and recently received accolades from conservatives, due to his recent decision to reopen Florida for business.
