With the arrival of a new month, the 2022 midterm elections are closer than ever. The congressional races next year will have serious ramifications on the balance of power in Congress and which bills are passed.

The GOP is continuing to work hard for victories in these upcoming races. Targeting the right districts is only part of the game, though. Ultimately, Republicans have to be united, rather than divided. Unity in the GOP is going to play a major role in whether Republicans are able to regain power in one or both congressional houses.

As it turns out, unifying the Republican Party ahead of the 2022 midterms is something that many GOP leaders are striving towards. Breitbart News reports that former Vice President Mike Pence aims to bring together the Trump coalition with the more traditional members of the GOP.

How is Mike Pence Working to Bring Together the GOP?

On Thursday, the former vice president delivered his first political address in South Carolina since leaving the White House. Later this month, Pence will also speak at a House Republican fundraiser conference before addressing this year’s GOP National Committee audience.

The former vice president’s upcoming speeches will come with a purpose. When Pence addresses different crowds, he will advocate for religious liberty, family values, and small government. During Pence’s remarks in South Carolina earlier this week, he stressed that Republicans are the party with the “winning” message.

As the former vice president gets back into the public eye, he has a clear plan to unite traditional conservatives with the Trump coalition of the GOP. This plan entails getting both sides behind a strong Republican agenda for next year’s midterms.

Neither traditional conservatives nor Trump Republicans want to see Democrats retain their current congressional majorities.

A Comeback Era for the Republican Party

Between the 2020 presidential election and the Georgia runoffs earlier this year, Republicans have taken some hits. Democrats are eager to argue that the latest elections mean the end of the GOP; however, the 2022 congressional races create a chance to prove leftists wrong.

If Republicans win back the Senate or the House, the game changes. America will be safe from H.R. 1, restrictive gun control, the PRO Act, and a litany of other socialist measures.
