The Southern border has been in need of attention for quite some time. Gangs, cartels, and huge swaths of migrants continue to appear at the border; furthermore, due to the policies of President Biden, the Southern border lacks the resources to appropriately mitigate challenges.
Now, nearly two months ago, Vice President Kamala Harris received the task of handling the Southern border. Harris hasn’t done it yet; meanwhile, the border crisis just continues to get even more dangerous.
The GOP has made very clear that the vice president needs to go visit the border and come up with some solutions; what’s even more interesting about this is some Democrats joining the calls for Harris to visit the Southern border.
However, according to Breitbart News, Harris has absolutely no intentions to go down to the Southern border anytime soon.
No Leadership on the Border Crisis
Right now, the Biden administration is simply digging its head in the sand and feigning as if the border crisis is nonexistent. Unfortunately, however, the real world impact of this nightmare continues to rage on, largely due to Harris’ inaction.
When President Biden delivered his very first congressional speech, he did not at all discuss the crisis at the border. This led to Republicans and some moderate Democrats stating that Biden needs to present solutions and not simply ignore what’s happening.

Republicans want Harris to visit the border in order to fix the crisis. Democrats, meanwhile, believe that Harris visiting the Southern border would convey that the current administration is serious about fixing holes within the U.S. immigration system.
The vice president, meanwhile, is more focused on diplomacy matters regarding Latin America than the border crisis. Moreover, an unnamed official within the White House confirms that Harris is not planning to go down to the border; this aide furthermore stated that the vice president won’t permit “Republican messaging” to determine her actions.
A Need for New Leadership
The mismanagement of the Southern border crisis is frustrating to many Americans, especially those living in border states. Arizona Democrat lawmakers, for instance, have urged the current White House to get serious about what’s happening at the Southern border; however, these calls continue to fall on deaf ears.

In 2022 and 2024, Republicans will have a chance at new leadership. This is why conservatives are already working to gear up for the midterms and present a viable nominee for the 2024 presidential race.
According to new CBP numbers, there were 172,622 border encounters in April.
That’s a 269% increase compared to the 2017-2020 average.
Yet, Biden and Harris still refuse to admit there is a crisis or visit the border.

Having new leadership at the helm will ensure that the border is not only fixed, but also kept from falling into its current condition ever again.
