House Democrat Defends Censorship in Shocking Interview

America continues to get an upfront look at the ugly, insidious nature of censorship. One of the most prominent displays happened during the height of COVID.

It was during this time that Americans were censored for daring to raise questions or concerns about COVID mask mandates, vaccines, and other measures being taken.

People were accused of spreading “misinformation” if they suggested that COVID vaccines wouldn’t be as effective as promisd.

Since then, it’s come to light that so-called “misinformation” about the ills of certain restrictions and mandates was, in fact, the truth.

Despite all of this, the Democrat Party is still largely hitching its wagon to censorship, as reported by Liberty Wire.

This Won’t End Well

During an interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki, Democratic Rep. Stacey Plaskett advocated for full censorship by the government.

Plaskett believes the government should determine what’s true and what’s false and then shut down people deemed to be spreading “false” information.

During this time, the congressional lawmaker likewise accused Republicans of making “outlandish” assertions designed to keep Americans from voting. Finally, Plaskett opined that a lack of censorship from the government would be nothing short of “detrimental.”

It Gets Worse

Unfortunately, Democrats’ support for censorship goes beyond just speaking in favor of it during interviews.

Just earlier this month, several congressional Democrats tried to stop presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from testifying. Unsurprisingly, the leftist lawmakers opposing his testimony argued he should be shut down for fear that he may spread “misinformation.”

Ironically, the left’s efforts to silence RFK Jr. took place as his planned congressional remarks actually focused on censorship.

In real time, the Democratic establishment is also actively engaging in censorship by refusing to hold primary debates in the 2024 presidential election.

As the left goes down this dangerous path, Republicans have to be prepared to stand up and safeguard the right to free speech.
