Michigan Governor’s Approval Rating Falling Amid Multiple Scandals

Many Democrat leaders and even health officials have failed to practice what they preach when it comes to COVID-19 guidelines.

Last year, California Governor Gavin Newsom got caught dining with lobbyists; this happened after Newsom closed other businesses in the state, issued a face covering mandate, and put in place social distancing orders. Newsom ultimately failed to abide by any of his own measures, a significant reason why he’s now facing a recall by unhappy Californians.

Deborah Birx, a health official, told Americans not to travel for the holidays; however, this didn’t stop her from hopping on a plane for Thanksgiving to be with multiple generations of her own relatives.

The list goes on and on; although, right now, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is the one in the hot seat, per Breitbart News

Trouble Ahead for Governor Whitmer

Under the Michigan governor, state residents have suffered immensely heavy restrictions. There was even one point when Whitmer ordered stores to section off “non-essential” goods to prevent customers from purchasing them and shopping in stores for too long.

Whitmer’s austere restrictions come as she faces controversies and scandals of her own. Some examples include the Michigan Democrat governor paying off a former state Health and Human Services official, jetting off to Florida after telling Michigan residents to remain in the state, etc.

A new poll run by the leftist group Progress Michigan shows that many residents in Whitmer’s state have serious reservations and concerns. 43% of individuals stated that they maintain “strong” disapproval” of Whitmer’s job performance.

Another 49% claimed to support Whitmer’s job performance, leaving 6% who cited themselves as being “somewhat” disapproving of the Michigan governor.

Separate Sets of Rules

The fall in Whitmer’s approval rating speaks to the frustration that many Americans have with the enactment of separate sets of rules.

It’s OK for Newsom to dine with his lobbyist friends and keep his wine business open; yet, everyday Californians cannot do the same. Meanwhile, Whitmer has no problem with catching a private jet to Florida; yet, she tells everyday Michiganders to remain home and abstain from travel.

For quite some time, many Americans have begun believing that COVID-19 edicts and restrictions issued by leaders are just for show. If science truly determined these guidelines, why don’t leaders like Whitmer and Newsom follow what they dictate?

Since the private trip to Florida, Governor Whitmer has faced questions from the press. Thus far, she refuses to give a meaningful or honest answer. Michiganders and other Americans subsequently see this for what it is. Time and time again, Democrats have shown zero issues with controlling other people’s lives while they themselves do whatever they please.
