NYC to Decrease Funding for City Police Department

Over the past week, multiple Democrat leaders have caved to the anti-police mob. What’s most disturbing about it all is that allowing looters and rioters to run amuck across U.S. cities is only the tip of the iceberg.

Last week, Black Lives Matter and other far-left groups began urging Democrats to defund the police. Rather than stand their ground and tell the mob “no,” the left-wing leadership spinelessly caved to the demands, vowing to defund and even dismantle certain police departments.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is one of the latest Democrats to bow to the mob.

On Sunday, the NYC mayor announced new policing reforms. One of these reforms entails defunding the New York City Police Department, confirms Breitbart News.

What to Know About the NYC Mayor’s Moves to Defund Police

On Sunday, De Blasio engaged in a news conference to discuss upcoming changes within New York City. One of these changes will involve the transfer of funds from the NYPD to “youth initiatives and social services.” According to De Blasio, additional information about the defunding process will arrive within forthcoming budget plans during weeks to come.

The New York City mayor’s announcement arrives at a curious time. Thanks to the violent rioters and looters, crime is actually increasing in the city that De Blasio is tasked with leading.

Unfortunately, though, the mayor seems more concerned with acquiescing to the anti-police mob than he is with allowing law enforcement to protect and service communities that need it. News about the defunding of police will likely embolden criminals, anarchists, and others who are looking to commit crimes without having to pay the consequences.

What do you think about the defunding of the NYPD? Do you think Mayor Bill de Blasio — and New York City residents — will live to regret the reduction of law enforcement’s resources? Don’t hold anything back in the comments section below!
