Paul Ryan Doesn’t Think Trump Will Win 2024 GOP Nomination

The 2022 midterm elections will be finished and done within less than one month’s time. With that comes the 2024 presidential election and various speculations about which candidates will throw their hats in the ring.

Right now, on the Democratic side, there are a lot of mixed messages as to whether or not Joe Biden is going to run. For a while, he’s been screaming from the mountaintops that he’ll run.

Then, he claimed he wasn’t sure. Now, the White House is back to saying he’s going to pursue a second term. During a recent interview, Biden also went on record declaring that he can defeat Trump once more.

On the Republican side, there’s a lot of speculation about whether or not the former president will run.

While Trump’s largely hinted that he’s going to pursue another presidential campaign, former House Speaker Paul Ryan doesn’t think Trump will get the nomination, per Breitbart News.

Ryan on a Trump 2024 Presidential Campaign

During a now-viral interview, the former GOP House Speaker said he doesn’t think Trump is an electable candidate.

According to Ryan, by the time 2024 arrives, Trump’s inability to win an election will be tangible. At the same time, the former House Speaker alleges that what appears to be loyalty to Trump from some members of the Republican Party is only fear.

Ryan believes that despite some Republicans fearing Trump, he’s most likely to lose the general election in 2024.

Therefore, Ryan rhetorically questioned why the GOP would end up nominating someone who is so likely to hand Democrats another four years of controlling the Oval Office.

This commentary comes as Paul Ryan holds a spot on the board of Fox News. This also isn’t the first time that he’s been critical of the former president.

America’s Reaction

The former House Speaker’s claims that Trump would lose the 2024 White House race and fail to win the nomination certainly have Americans talking.

Naturally, supporters of the former president weren’t pleased with this. Many Trump supporters took to social media to bash Ryan as a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only) and deem he’s out of touch.

Other Americans dug into more statements that Ryan’s made concerning the 2024 presidential election.

The former GOP House Speaker has listed his favorites for the Republican nomination as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

In regards to the 2024 presidential election, DeSantis’ name has come up quite a bit. As a matter of fact, there are PACs and vocal supporters urging the Florida governor to make a presidential run.

Time will tell whether or not he actually does.

What do you make of Paul Ryan’s view that Donald Trump won’t be the Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential election? You’re more than welcome to sound off about this in the comments area.
