On Thursday morning, Democrat lawmakers introduced the Judiciary Act of 2021 to officially add four new seats to the Supreme Court.

This blatant attempt to pack the Supreme Court with liberal justices to water out the conservative majority is something Democrats have talked about for quite some time. When Democrats formally announced the Judiciary Act of 2021 yesterday, they also spewed a series of falsehoods.

Democrat Sen. Ed Markey accused the GOP of “stealing” two seats currently occupied by conservative justices. Shortly thereafter, Markey had the gall to claim that four new justices appointed by Biden will bring back “fairness” to the Supreme Court.

There’s a twist, though. During a Thursday press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came out and stated that she won’t be bringing the Judiciary Act of 2021 to the House floor, Breitbart News confirms.

Pelosi on the Democrats’ Bill on Pack the Supreme Court

During the House Speaker’s press conference, reporters asked Pelosi if she supported her party’s bill to add seats to the Supreme Court.

The Democrat House Speaker said “no”; however, this was quickly followed by Pelosi explaining that she supports President Biden’s commission to study various possible ways to reform the Supreme Court.

In additional remarks, Pelosi declared that Democrats are “right now” focusing on the infrastructure package. The House Speaker did note that packing the Supreme Court is not something she views as “out of the question”; although, Pelosi also reiterated that she doesn’t plan to bring the Judiciary Act of 2021 to the House floor.

Blowback from the Republican Party

Republicans slammed Democrats on Thursday for calling to pack the Supreme Court.

GOP leaders explained that Democrats’ work to add four new seats to the court is nothing more than a naked endeavor for a power grab. Republicans have also noted that Democrats previously opposed packing the Supreme Court when their party was not in power.

A minority of leftists have opposed packing the Supreme Court. Some suggested that it could set a precedent where Democrats add seats to the court, then Republicans do the same, and so on.

The bill to pack the Supreme Court comes at a time when Americans are already deeply divided on the basis of politics.
