In light of coronavirus, the holiday season has now become a point of controversy amongst certain groups. Left-wingers and others who support shutdowns are of the belief that traveling during this time is irresponsible; individuals with this mindset also don’t seem to have a cutoff point for when they’d cease the support of travel limitations.
On the other side, you have Americans who believe that living life while taking certain reasonable precautions is the best call. This is why millions of people traveled for the Thanksgiving holiday; it also explains why others are planning to travel for Christmas.
Amid this ongoing debate, the White House has taken heat for its choice to host holiday parties this month. Yesterday, though, the White House pushed back against this criticism via press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Breitbart News confirms.
The White House on Holiday Parties
Since announcing the decision to throw parties for the 2020 holidays, the White House noted that certain precautions will be in place. These precautions entail plexiglass dividers at food stations, face mask requirements for guests, social distancing markers, covers for drinks, etc.

Nonetheless, Democrats continue to go after the White House. On Wednesday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany pushed back against some of the sanctimonious talking points. McEnany pointed out that if people can loot in person, set buildings ablaze in person, etc., while COVID-19 is an issue, then people can also attend parties in person.
The White House press secretary also reminded the media of the aforementioned precautions that will be present at all holiday parties. Finally, McEnany stated that celebrating the holidays “responsibly” is something that individuals can do.
Maintaining Freedoms During COVID-19
Throughout this year, conservatives and others who love this country have continued to maintain that freedoms cannot end simply due to a pandemic. Attending parties at the White House is not mandatory; this means that anyone who wishes not to attend doesn’t have to.

The left’s shaming of Christmas parties is just the tip of the iceberg, though. They’ve already begun saying that Americans should limit gatherings, just as they claimed during Thanksgiving. When it comes to COVID-19 and various “guidelines,” however, many people are fatigued and fed up.
