Anti-Trump Graffiti FOUND At Lincoln Memorial

Federal authorities launched a full investigation after discovering a massive ’86 47′ graffiti—measuring 15 by 30 feet—spray-painted on the drained Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool during President Trump’s renovation project. The vandalism appears to threaten the sitting president with code language suggesting violence.

Discovery and Federal Response

U.S. Park Police received notification at 7:20 a.m. Friday morning after National Park Service personnel discovered the enormous graffiti at the bottom of the drained reflecting pool. The vandalism comes just days after James Comey faced indictment for posting an image featuring this exact phrase on Instagram in May 2025. Restaurant industry slang ’86’ means to remove or kill something, paired with ’47’ to reference President Trump as the 47th president.

Freelance journalist Andrew Leyden photographed tarps covering targeted sections of the pool, with Park Police investigating and gathering evidence from construction workers. The affected areas were secured immediately while authorities arranged cleanup. Officials issued strong condemnation, stating the vandalism is unacceptable and will not be tolerated on federal lands, promising those responsible will face full accountability.

Security Concerns Mount

The incident follows two assassination attempts against President Trump during the 2024 campaign and another security breach last week when an intruder stormed a checkpoint at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. No suspects have been named and no arrests reported as of late Friday. The graffiti occurred during Trump’s historic renovation project to restore the 2,030-foot reflecting pool in time for America’s 250th birthday celebration on July 4.

Renovation Project Context

President Trump publicly criticized the Biden administration for allowing the landmark to deteriorate, calling it filthy, dirty, and leaking like a sieve. Working with Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Trump directed contractors to install an industrial-grade American Flag Blue liner over the leaky granite foundation. The low-cost fix, estimated at one to two million dollars and expected to finish within weeks, avoids a multi-year, 300 million dollar full replacement while dramatically improving the site’s appearance for the upcoming anniversary celebration.
